It is important to get it right! They say you can’t change sacred names to whatever you like.

One of those names being changed is the meaning of the Word “Diné”. It’s the word our Navajo people use.

Outsiders have (probably unintentionally) corrupted the world and taken away the deep meaning. A meaning so deep it identifies our Navajo people and ties into the belief system.

When these words get changed and devalued they alter the culture and traditions, changing them forever.
