Before Microsoft stopped developing Windows 10 Mobile, they released a feature called Windows Continuum. It allowed certain Windows phones such as the HP Elite x3 to run a desktop-like UI on an external display much like the Samsung Galaxy Note 10's Samsung Dex feature. While it hasn't been widely adopted yet, the idea of unifying the phone and the desktop PC is super intriguing to me, so I wanted to take a look back at Microsoft's attempt to see what was good, what was bad, and what the future of mobile computing might look like.
