Why the WEST captured this city in RUSSIA in 1918 - UNKNOWN HISTORY

In March of 1918 Russia (Bloshevik Government) quit the WW1 sighning the humiliating peace deal with Germany while still figting in a Civil War with the White Russians. The Antanta countries decided to intervene into the North of Russia to fight the Bolsheviks and trying to recreate the Eastern front against Germany. Around 30000 troops mainly from Britain and USA, also including French, Canadians and even AUSTRALIANS shipped in to the Murmansk and Arkhangelsk in the North of Russia. However, after a a bit more than a year they had to leave. Interventions were also in the South of Russia that time. I wonder how the Bolsheviks survived all of it. But maybe one of the reasons that the Western troops themself and the command weren't motivated enough. After all it's not the same when you protect your land, but being somewehre far away in cold place with no particular idea. Hmm. Just my thought.
