Chaharshanbe Suri ceremony in the village of Palangan- Kurdistan.....#jimeshkevar

Before the arrival of Islam in Iran, Iranians considered lying to be the worst sin and a symbol of the devil and the devil.

Ancient Iranians considered Ahura Mazda to be a symbol of truth, righteousness, and light, and they considered crying, lamentation, and lies to be from the evil devil.

In ancient times, our ancestors held more than sixty-five ancient festivals (Nowruz, Sizde Badr, Mehregan, Tirgan, Sepandar Mazgan, Shab Chele, Charshanbeh Suri, etc.).

The abundance of these festivals indicates that Iranians considered happiness to be one of the great blessings of God and a way to get closer to the Holy Essence of God, and for this reason they attached importance to happiness in their lives.

Because in the culture and religion of ancient Iran, celebration and happiness are a way to live well and the victory of Ahura Mazda and light over the devil and darkness.

Charshanbeh Suri Celebration Ceremony:

Lighting the Fire

The fundamental element of the Charshanbeh Suri celebration ritual is the element of fire. In various regions of Iran, on the night of Charshanbeh Suri, sometimes three piles of fire (symbolizing the three great advices of ancient Iranians: good thoughts, good deeds, and good words) or seven piles of fire (symbolizing the seven Amshaspandans) are prepared

Kashq Zani

In this custom, young girls and boys wear a veil over their heads and faces so that they are not recognized and go to the doors of their friends and neighbors. The owner of the house comes to the door at the sound of the spoons hitting the bowls and pours Charshanbeh Suri nuts, sweets, chocolates, money, and money into their bowls. The ritual of spoon-waving probably originated from the belief that the good spirits of the deceased return to the living at the end of the year and visit the homes of the survivors in the form of people wearing them, and the living give them gifts as a remembrance and blessing. The Zand Avesta states that during the last five days of the year, until the fifth day of Farvardin, Ormazd empties hell and the spirits are released. Spoon-waving is the use of body language by the spirits instead of spoken language.

Fortune-telling and untying

A Chaharshanbe Suri ritual in which young girls make intentions, stand behind a wall and listen to the words of passersby, and then interpret these words to receive the answer to their intentions.

Nuts that Solve Problems

In the past, after the fire was finished, family members and relatives would gather and roast the last remaining seeds from the winter storage, such as watermelon seeds, pumpkin seeds, pistachios, hazelnuts, almonds, peas, melon seeds, wheat, and hemp seeds, over the fire, bless them with salt, and eat them. They believed that whoever ate this concoction would become kinder to others and would be free from resentment and envy. Today, the term "salt-eater" and "eating someone's bread and salt and not betraying them" originates from this belief.

The story of Chaharshanbeh Suri
According to the Shahnameh

Siavash is one of the most oppressed figures in the Shahnameh. When his father's wife, Sudabeh, fell in love with him, he never fell for his stepmother's trickery.
Until this daring reached his father Kikavus and he was greatly angered.
Siavash asked his father to pass through seven fire tunnels to prove his purity and innocence, and if he came out safe, it would be considered proof of his innocence.
This fire test took place on the last Tuesday of the year and he came out proudly.
By order of his father, this day was recognized as a national holiday.
