Unboxing the StarFive VisionFive 2 (RISC-V) - Testing Features & Performance
Thanks to StarFive for sending me this to try out. It was not sponsored at all, but they gave me the opportunity to try out a bloody excellent bit of hardware. I cannot wait to see what they do next, and I love how good they are at communication and how much they contribute to the open-source community and Linux kernel.
Correction: The processor is a _StarFive_ JH7110, which uses the SiFive U74 core design.
Note that I DID find one other board actually, that I even have, with the JH7110; the Pine64 Star64! Ref: https://wiki.pine64.org/wiki/STAR64.
I think RISC-V is moving forward fast, and could be considered where Arm was maybe ten years ago at the most. So much of this can likely be refined and improved with just drivers and firmware though, so if you have something to contribute, that'd be awesome!
