New dinosaur species discovered: 'Dragon Prince of Mongolia'
Scientists have identified a previously unknown dinosaur species, estimated to be 65 million years old, and named it the "Dragon Prince of Mongolia."
The dinosaur was small compared to its larger relatives, such as the Tyrannosaurus rex. Researchers said this newly identified species is the closest known ancestor of the T-Rex.
These findings suggest that three significant migrations between Asia and North America led the species to evolve into a gargantuan size before going extinct 66 million years ago.
