TALIESIN WEST: What to expect at Frank Lloyd Wright's magnificent home

A review of a tour of Taliesin West, which was designed by the renown architect Frank Lloyd Wright and used as his winter home and architecture school.

Taliesin West is National Historic Landmark in Scottsdale, Arizona. It is an excellent example of Frank Lloyd Wright’s architectural style. Built in 1937, the buildings' structures are informed by the desert landscape and built using the surrounding natural materials. It is also designed to precisely utilize the views of the McDowell Mountains and Phoenix city lights.

It was designed as a winter studio for Wright and includes a cabaret theater, music pavilion, drafting studio, and a Georgia O'Keefe and Wright photography exhibition. It is a must-see destination when visiting Scottsdale.

You need to purchase tickets in advance on line. You can only visit the home with a guided tour; however, the gift shop is open to the public.
