"Taqsim" -- Belly Dance workshop with Elina Pechersky, held in The Suzanne Dellal Center - Tel Aviv
Taqsim is the instrumental improvisation usually executed as solo of one musical tool in Arabic Music.
In Belly Dance , the Dancer creates her own interpretation and improvises according to the instrument's melody and "soul". If there is also an underlying rhythm in a particular Taqsim,the dancer can switch her movements between the drum and the melodic instrument. this workshop focuses on dancing to a 3 music instruments : Nay (flute), Violin, Qanoun, suggesting movements of Elina's dancing style to those tools.
