How To Create A Working Altar | HAUS OF HOODOO

What is a Working Altar?
I will start with what a Working Altar is not. A Working Altar is not your Ancestor’s Altar. Your Ancestors’ Altar is a their sacred space and unless you’re working SPECIFICALLY with them you should not place anything on their Altar other then their personal belongings and regular offerings. A Working Altar is not a deity/divinity Altar either. Those folks are to have their own Altar just as the ancestors and you are to only place your workings on their Altar when SPECIFICALLY working with that Spirit.
Altars will hold and preserve the energy of what the Altar is intended for. If is the Ancestors then everything on that Altar will have the power and vibration of your ancestors. Same goes with the Altars of other Spirits.
A Working Altar is the place of WORK. Have you watched in movies how Occultist have a table where all their tools are? Dagger, book of shadows, grimoire, chalice, Bible/prayer book, herbs, oils, candles etc. that’s a Working Altar.
That’s where all your rituals begin.
Daggers
Spiritual Colognes & Water you often work with
Candles
Prayers books/bible
Mortal and pestle
Herbs and oils you’re currently working with
Journal/grimoire/book of shadows
Chalice
Incense and resins
Resin burning censers
All the Spiritual tools you’re currently working with go on your Working Altar. The more you work on this altar, the more you pray over it the more of a “powerful place of Magic” it will become. Overtime, you’ll be able to give things power just by placing them on this Altar. The Altar will come alive and will vibrate powerful energy. But you must be consistent. You must give energy, attention and care to all your Altars. Don’t let the energy and connection on your Altars go cold.
Yes, it is a lot of maintenance but what you feed will feed you. The seeds you nurture are the ones that grow. You want Magic? Work for it. You want strong Spiritual connection? Work for it. You want to be a Mystic? Work for it.
The invisible world is watching you at all times, 24/7, 365 without commercial interruption.
