A Canon US patent describes a new tilt shift lens design which is fully controlled by the camera. How does it differ from a conventional tilt/shift where the whole lens shifts/tilts.

Does it make tilt and shift easier to understand? How would you use it?
How much of this could appear in a real lens sold by Canon?
