🌈 Summary
Graphic designer Gary Matthews flees his ex-boyfriend Trevor’s wedding—where he
was stuck as best man—and heads into the wilderness to clear his head. Caught in a storm, he
takes shelter in a remote cabin, only to be knocked out and handcuffed to a bed by a mysterious
man named Laz Lawson.
Gary soon learns Laz is a whistleblower hiding from Meridian Health Solutions, the
pharmaceutical company Trevor works for. Laz has proof they’ve been illegally dumping
chemicals, causing rare blood disorders—including the one that killed his partner, Elijah.
As they’re forced to stay in the cabin, Gary and Laz’s mistrust turns into a surprising connection.
But when Meridian’s men close in, they flee through forest tunnels. Laz is shot, and Gary uses
his rescue training to save him.
At a ranger station, they hand the evidence to federal agents just as Trevor arrives with armed
men. He’s arrested, and Meridian begins to fall.
A year later, Gary and Laz are building a life together—partners in love, healing, and justice.
