Dirt biking to an abandoned mine

On this adventure we explore Caroline Mines located about 20 km outside of Hope. The mine was in opererarion briefly, closing in 84 after only two years of being mined due to a poor production. This is surprising considering its massive size at over 18 kms of tunnels and 8 levels!! This mine is located on what is known as the Coquihalla Gold Belt and the tunnels follow quarts veins through the mountains. We now know that the mine was purchased again in 2018 for exploritory drilling, but appears to have been left again..We explored a very small portion of the mine, but our visit is one that will be remembered and we will return!!
