Chiz Escudero, alleged bagman barred from leaving PH | ANC

Dateline Philippines: The Sandiganbayan on Monday barred former Senate President Francis "Chiz" Escudero and businessman Maynard Ngu from leaving the Philippines amid a probe into their alleged involvement in the flood control kickback scheme.

The anti-graft court's Sixth Division granted the Office of the Ombudsman's request to issue a Precautionary Hold Departure Order (PHDO) against Escudero and Ngu.

The court earlier held a closed-door summary hearing on the PHDO application to determine if a probable cause exists to issue the order against the two. — Report from Kaxandra Salonga, ABS-CBN News
