Aqara P2 Door Sensor Unboxing – Matter + Thread Finally Here!

Today I’m unboxing the new Aqara P2 Door and Window Sensor with Matter and Thread support, https://geni.us/AqaraP2 (Amazon) and this is a big upgrade from the older Zigbee version. Unlike previous Aqara sensors that required the Aqara hub, this one connects through Matter and works with Apple HomePod mini, Amazon Echo devices, and Google Nest Hub using Thread border routers. But the biggest surprise? The size. This thing is massive compared to the older model! In this quick unboxing, I compare it to the previous generation, check out the CR123 battery, and give my first impressions on whether the larger design is worth it for Matter compatibility and better smart home integration.
