So with that said why did it go up so much TODAY? VERY SIMPLE, a very strong new EARNINGS REPORT beating all expectations! But not NIOs earnings, they will report next week on Tuesday, IT WAS XPENGS EARNINGS that were just soo strong. For those of you who don’t know XPeng very simply put is ANOTHER Chinese Electric Vehicle company, quite similar to NIO in the aspect that they are also up and coming and still have no profits. AND GUESS WANT this XPeng just HAD THEIR REVENUE JUMP UP FOURFOLD and their deliveries went up by a staggering 266%.

And if you thought NIO being up like 13% IS INSANE, XPENG IS UP 37% RIGHT NOW!. But why does this lead to NIO going up when they are not even the same company? Well if ONE CHINESE ELECTRIC VEHICLE STARTUP COMPANY beat earnings then why wouldn¨t another CHINESE EV STARTUP, MEANING NIO, also be able to do it? That's what everyone thinks right now and I think IT MAKES COMPLETE SENSE especially since the expectations are already so HIGH for NIO and if they also manage to beat them LIKE XPENG did that would mean that the company is MORE THAN ON TRACK in its journey to become a major Electric Vehicle contender!
And people, it is not only XPeng that is doing well among the energy vehicles in China right now. According to a recent October report Sales of new energy vehicles (NEVs) surged 105 per cent to 160,000, their fourth consecutive month of gain. NEVs include battery-powered electric, plug-in petrol-electric hybrid and hydrogen fuel-cell vehicles.

Vehicle sales in China rose 12.5 per cent in October from the same month a year earlier, the seventh straight monthly rise as the world’s biggest vehicle market leads the global industry in recovering from lows hit earlier in the year.

So it seems like China in general is really going towards new energy and that companies such as NIO and XPeng are there to get those sweet market shares in this GIGANTIC INDUSTRY.

And it is not only investors such as you and me who are going into NIO right now, there are just so much institutional money from different kinds of funds buying the stock and recently we are even seeing banks and pension funds buying NIO. This is even better for the stock because for example PENSION FUNDS ARE SUPPOSED TO BE VERY CAREFUL IN WHAT THEY INVEST IN, since they CANNOT AFFORD TO lose money with risky investments because there are actual people who WILL RELY ON THAT MONEY for food and a roof over their heads IN THE FUTURE.

And seeing for example the Swiss National Bank, The Commerce Bank, The New York State Common retirement fund and California Public Employees Retirement System buying NIO TELLS ME THAT THEY DON’T SEE IT AS BEING TOO RISKY despite not having turned a profit yet and it gives me confidence that NIO has a place for pretty much every portfolio that is already balanced and diversified.

But this is just the start of the company’s growth. Nio’s big plans and ample amounts of cash will help cement its position as leader of the up-and-coming Chinese EV market. You see NIO has already had a very successful year, recently they reported 5,000 deliveries for the month of October, which is a record monthly increase. Nio delivered 31,430 vehicles so far this year, a 111% spike from the previous year.
