The focus of this class is Dependent Origination, aka pratītyasamutpāda, the answer to "Why is there anything?"

MC traces this idea from the Buddha's time, through the arguments of the 18 schools of early Buddhism, to Nagarjuna's exposition of emptiness, and how these radical ideas apply to our lives.
