How to Open Subaru Outback Hood?

To open your Subaru Outback's hood, first locate the primary hood release latch inside the cabin. This lever is typically on the driver's side, low on the dashboard, near the door sill, often marked with a hood icon. Pull this lever firmly; you'll hear a 'pop' from the front, indicating partial release. Go to the front, where the hood is now slightly ajar. Reach into this gap, usually near the center of the hood's leading edge, and feel for the secondary safety latch. It's usually a small lever to push sideways (left or right) or a handle to pull up. While holding this, lift the hood fully. Finally, locate the prop rod, clipped under the hood or near the engine, and insert it into the designated hole to secure the hood in the open position.
