Adaptive fashion hits the runway at New York Fashion Week
Keisha Greaves always knew she wanted to be a fashion designer but worried her career would be derailed when she began experiencing the symptoms of muscular dystrophy. Instead, the difficulty she experienced manipulating clothing as she got dressed became the inspiration for her fashion line - Girls Chronically Rock.
Her clothing features things like velcro, instead of buttons - part of a growing trend called adaptive fashion that's designed to make it easier for people with disabilities to get dressed.
This video begins with a moment of success: the debut of Keisha (and her adaptive clothing line) at New York Fashion Week. Keisha also takes us inside her home in Cambridge, Massachusetts where we see how she lives, works - and hopes to expand her fashion line.
