Volvo XC40 Recharge T5 PHEV - Best of Both Worlds? (ENG) - Test Drive and Review

Volvo XC40 Recharge T5 (formerly known as Twin Engine) is a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle or PHEV. PHEVs are supposed to offer the best of both worlds: zero emission driving on short distances, and internal combustion engine on longer journeys. The Volvo XC40 Recharge T5 (long and complicated name) is a taste of the upcoming fully electric Volvo XC40 Recharge P8. In 2018 I reviewed the Volvo XC40 T5. That meant a 2-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged engine producing 247 hp. And AWD. I really liked Volvo’s compact crossover (we’re talking European compact, not US compact), and I wasn’t the only one. Just a couple of weeks before I got my hands on the XC40, it was named the European Car of the Year.
