My fix for cold start issues - Prado/Hilux/Surf 1KZ-TE

Cold start issues?

My Symptoms were: Cold start issues or hard to start after engine hasn't been running overnight (not necessarily temperature related). Engine cranks fine but engine would not ignite for a long time and was slow to ignite/poor fuel supply, started fine after first start of the day. No other obvious symptoms or signs of problems.

Things I tried first were: New heavy duty crank battery, new glow plugs, new fuel filter and filter housing, replaced fuel hoses from filter to injector pump. Non of these helped.
