'A massive undertaking': Ottawa firm fights quantum hacking

A local technology company is working to protect global communications and digital finance networks from future quantum hacking threats. CTV's Austin Lee profiles Crypto4A, an Ottawa-based cybersecurity company designing modules to protect major banks and governments ahead of an anticipated global tipping point known as Q-Day. Chief executive officer Bruno Couillard says it is critical to secure digital spaces today, as experts from Google and IBM predict quantum computers could break standard encryptions by 2029. Chief product officer John O'Connor adds that manufacturing the hardware locally in Canada builds international trust while generating high-tech jobs in the capital region area.
