Speed to the West: The Unseen Shots of 2016

Before we get to the end of year review, coming tomorrow, let's take a look at some of this year's shots which didn't quite make the cut, ending up in the archives, waiting for a chance to be published. Most shots weren't published for the usual reasons:

- The lighting/loco performance/weather was poor.
- I was caught out or I made a cock up whilst filming.
- Unwanted noise from road traffic or people.
- The shot went on for too long.
- The battery decided to die, mid-recording.

There are a handful of shots, however, which are perfectly fine, but weren't published because:

- They were throw away shots which weren't originally intended for publication in a main video.
- I couldn't find a place for them in the main video.
- They were a first take which didn't go as planned, requiring a retake. Alternatively the first take came out better, and so the retake wasn't used.
- They were taken on the way to, in between, or on the way back from the filming of a main event, but didn't justify having their own video.
- They were due to be used with additional material which, either, didn't happen, or wasn't really up to scratch, for various reasons.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy this little selection I've put together.

All filmed on a Panasonic HS900 with a Pro Sound L92AA microphone.
