Al Jazeera Al Hamra Abandoned Village
This old pearl-diving town in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE was home to the Zaab tribe for untold generations. In 1968 they got into a dispute with the sheikh and 2500 Zaabi moved to Abu Dhabi on invitation of the sheikh there. Now the town is completely abandoned, the walls made of sand and coral crumbling under the harsh desert sun. Believed to be haunted by the locals, it's now being preserved and will one day be a tourist attraction of sorts.
