40 And A "Failure"? JP was 50+ | The Guide PART 2

40 and a failure - feeling behind in life can be rough. But look, Jordan Peterson was over 50 when he first blew up on the internet. He was in the very early stages of his career at 30, at 37 had finally finished "Maps of Meaning: The Architecture of Belief", but outside of the academic world, nobody paid attention to it. At 40 he was an associate professor, and at 50 (or a little bit after really), he started to become famous after he publicly opposed a bill in Canada that he believed controlled people's freedom of speech. I say all of that because I used many other examples of people who were "40 and a failure", who went on to become successful, but didn't include him, because he wasn't exactly a failure at 40. (Although relatively speaking... I suppose you could make a case for that.)

In this video, he addresses the question what to do if you're 40 & a "failure" and we'll expand upon that with more clips from JP and some insights from me. JP is an amazing psychologist and teacher - not everything he says is perfect, but he has a lot of wisdom and you'll learn a ton from him if you're open minded enough.

He also covers the same question in more detail in a Q&A - here's the clip if you're interested: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_-bnlGJmpL4
