SiteGround Review 2019 (Pros + Cons): should you use their WordPress hosting?
An honest review of SiteGround after using them many years. I loved their shared hosting while it lasted, but my traffic + CPU consumption outgrew their GoGeek plan and left me with 2 choices: upgrade to their cloud hosting for $80+/month (which I tried), or migrate to the best someone like DigitalOcean on Cloudways where I can get the same thing (2CPU + 4GB RAM) for half the price of $42/month.

SiteGround was great for shared hosting, by far the best I have used, but their cloud hosting is just too expensive when your traffic reaches a certain point. In which case, most people turn to Cloudways - which is managed cloud hosting.

Get hosting from DigitalOcean on Cloudways: https://www.cloudways.com/en/digital-ocean-cloud-hosting.php?id=262128&a_bid=61dde566
*Most people who leave SiteGround move to DigitalOcean on Cloudways. The tradeoff is their support isn’t as good, but performance is definitely better. Do not go back to GoDaddy, EIG brands, or A2 hosting as this is a serious downgrade from SiteGround.
*Thank you for using my aff link ahead of time. Each year I donate $3,000 to GoFundMe campaigns and your support helps: https://onlinemediamasters.com/gofundme/
Pros:
1. All-around great speed, support, security, uptimes, and features
2. Speed: most people who migrate post improved load times on Twitter
3. Support: get ahold of live chat in seconds, tickets answered in 15 minutes
4. Security: SiteGround is always posting new security updates on their FB page
5. Uptimes: your website should NEVER go down due to “random” errors like other hosts
6. Features: PHP 7.3, SG Optimizer cache plugin, Cloudflare, Let’s Encrypt SSL, staging, free migrations,
7. Trusted by Yoast, WordPress, myself, and Ivica from the WordPress Speed Up Facebook Group
Cons:
1. High renewal prices
2. Strict CPU limits (optimize your site!): https://onlinemediamasters.com/reduce-cpu-usage-wordpress/
3. Their cloud hosting isn’t great (DigitalOcean on Cloudways is better)
