I interviewed Brendan Fraser one-on-one and in person in Beverly Hills in January 1999 as a freelance writer/reporter. And the audio of the conversation has never been heard by anyone but me in the twenty-four years since it happened. In fact, because I never labeled the cassette tape, I didn't know I had it in my possession -- until I did a thorough search of my personal archives last week and found it. So, it's something of a lost tape.
This interview catches Fraser after he had completed all his 20th century feature films. Though the focus was on the Hugh Wilson comedy "Blast From the Past," in which he starred, he also talked about several of his other early movies.
And it's revealing as only an early-career interview can be (before the actor grows wiser and becomes more circumspect)! Enjoy!
