Squier Classic Vibe Starcaster vs. Affinity Starcaster

UPDATE (10/14/19): Unfortunately I had to take a full refund for the Classic Vibe. I returned it to the retailer, they told me the guitar was functioning properly per Squier’s standards, the pots Squier uses just don’t have much of a sweep. I also called Fender and the consumer relations rep told me the pots are NOT functioning properly... but only after I told him I have an Affinity version with pots that are functioning properly.

I considered getting the Classic Vibe back and replacing the pots myself, but after talking with 2 other Classic Vibe owners experiencing the same issue of the volume pots becoming on/off switches with the tone control(s) disengaged I decided to take the full refund offered to me by The Music Zoo (they also offered to replace the parts for a price or an exchange for another instrument; they were very helpful and I’ll definitely buy from them again). Ultimately, I don’t think a customer should be expected to invest any more time or money into a guitar that both manufacturer & retailer are telling me isn’t functioning properly. So -1 for Squier.

I did however keep the Affinity Starcaster. So, as an extension of this video THE AFFINITY STARCASTER IS THE WINNER! I put Tom Anderson pickups in it and love it. I’ll have an update video up on it within the next few weeks work permitting.
