Delirium Prevention, Identification and Treatment

In the US, 5 older persons develop delirium every minute, affecting a total of more than 2.6 million adults age 65 and older each year, and costing more than $164 billion in annual healthcare expenditures. Given its adverse impact on function and quality of life, delirium holds tremendous societal implications for the individual, family, community, and the entire healthcare system. The presentation will discuss the long-term consequences of delirium and how we ca prevent, identify and treat delirium across care settings.
