BMW has always been defined as the Ultimate Driving Machine; and that statement holds no truer than in their benchmark M3. The BMW M3 has been the performance sedan king for decades and at times it has seemed the only real threat to it is...another BMW. The purpose of this review is to explore an idea I've been wondering about for a while. Is the new mid-level car better than the old range topper? The new BMW M340 takes on the outgoing M3 in this head to head.
