Eight Hungry Leeches Don’t Want To Bite Me. Why?

Why we have such mixed feelings and emotions towards leeches. They are looking so gross slimy and they are bloodsuckers. Creepy blood thirsty creatures. We instinctively afraid of them. But people really can benefit from them to treat many diseases and for reconstruction and transplant surgery. Their mouths secrete a concoction of healing aids: anticoagulant to thin the blood and prevent clots, vasodilators to dilate the blood vessels for easy blood flow, anti-inflammatories and anaesthetic so the patient doesn't feel the leech's tiny star-shaped bite.
Let’s conduct a small experiment and see what these eight leech would prefer to eat my warm blooded hand or piece of defrosted lever. I am terrified.
