Zongzi Is NOT What You Think

During Dragon Boat Festival in China, people all eat Zongzi (rice dumplings).

But what surprised me is that Zongzi is NOT just one food.

Depending on the region, it can be:

sweet or savory
filled with egg yolk, meat, or red bean
completely different in taste and texture

I didn’t expect something so traditional to have so many variations.

Maybe this is what China is like:
one culture, but many interpretations of the same tradition.
