Art journal in an altered book using lots of ephemera, a gelli print, and stamping.

Hi everyone, today I have my very first altered book art journal page. I’ve always wanted to do one but never got around to it. I was at an estate sale and found a book that u thought would be perfect…. So here we go! To be honest the piece started out just being a layered tag but then I got the book and the plan changed. I start with 2 large pocket cards and glue then to a piece of cardstock (which if I knew it was going in a book I may have skipped). I trimmed them, added some of my aged tape, and some vintage photo & scorched timber distressed ink on the edges. I took a frame made from cardstock and book paper and added ‘paper strips’ and a tiny snapshot. Later it also gets stamped, a butterfly added to it and a little circle ephemera. Next up was the ‘here’ flash card (stamped), the number strip and another piece of paper strip with a butterfly. That was going to be it until I found the book, but I didn’t want to just glue that piece down so I added a bit as background for it. I started with a neutral gelli print, a small pocket card (stamped), a dial and some vintage looking washi tape. Lastly, I added a couple stickers from the clippings sticker book.
