22 Years in Insurance and then?.. Comedy! | Janet Harrison | TEDxLiverpool

This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. Janet's passion was to become an actor. She was cursed however with an unusually good ability to thrive in the insurance industry and ended up spending an unplanned 22 years there! Inspired by the book, "The Element", by Liverpool's Sir Ken Robinson she finally set out to pursue her life's dreams. This is her story out of the corporate comfort zone back to something that combined her strengths and passions and brought her a new set of meaning challenges.

Janet Harrison lives for comedy. It's her job! Janet is the Managing Director of COFILMIC, a talent network for comedy across TV, film and live performance. It provides a springboard for new talent through an annual short film festival and awards, talent development programmes and production of comedy content, across all platforms.

Making the leap from 22 years in the insurance industry has been quite a journey, but having found a new passion she's only just begun.
