Restoring Mosby Creek, Planting the Site

At Mosby Creek, restoration didn’t stop after reconnecting the river to its floodplain. A diverse array of wetland plants are now taking root, helping create off-channel habitat and supporting species like the Northwestern Pond Turtle.

By creating off-channel habitat and improving floodplain connectivity, this Bureau of Land Management project is helping species find space to thrive again.

Built through strong partnerships, this project balances working landscapes with ecological restoration—proving that even modified systems can be reshaped for resilience.
