Main symbol: The blue butterfly. In many cultures the blue butterfly is seen as a symbol of life and change. All of the scenes in this animation ultimately depict the stages of that change with Joel being their harbinger.

Easter eggs: 1. 0:17 - Joel’s cap can be seen in the background

2. 0:57-1:00 - reference to the meme wedding video
3. 1:02 - Roomie logo on the sign
4. 1:09 - “don’t worry it’s apple juice” poster in the background

References: all of these animations are made based of references. Some of them are from Joel’s videos, some were taken from stock footage, and some are from big studio works, namely “Spirited Away” and “Princess Mononoke” by Ghibli, “Your name” by Makoto Shinkai and “Sand planet” by Minakata Laboratory. Also, some of the references were taken from a few posts from Pinterest, sadly, with the way Pinterest works, I couldn’t find the original authors of them.
