On April 7, the singer marked her and boyfriend Chris Hughes’ 1-year anniversary by surprising him with an elaborate performance to her new single “Serendipity,” which she documented for the song’s music video. The video shows Chris walking into a theater with JoJo’s parents, with text on-screen explaining that he had no idea about it and thought he was meeting her to see a show. The text also notes the production involved five days of rehearsal, 86 dancers, and featured 24 hidden cameras. After taking his seat, Chris notices that the word “Serendipity” is under the stage. Seconds later, the curtain reveals JoJo belting out in song alongside many performers.
