RM Framework 3rd Online User Event

DESIGNING HIGH-QUALITY TRAININGS FOR RESEARCH MANAGERS: THE RM FRAMEWORK HANDBOOK IN PRACTICE

The RM Framework project held its third online User Event on 18 June 2026, focusing on the practical application of the RM Framework Handbook in designing high-quality training programmes for Research Managers. The session brought together training providers, independent trainers, consultancies, universities, professional associations, funding agencies, and organisations involved in developing and delivering Research Management training across Europe.

Participants explored how the RM Framework provides a structured European-level foundation for designing competence-based and future-oriented training programmes. The event demonstrated how the Handbook can support the development of modular learning offers, alignment with the European Competence Framework for Research Managers (RM Comp), and preparation for the upcoming Quality Label, which aims to strengthen the recognition and credibility of RM training.

The discussion highlighted the growing need for high-quality, interoperable, and market-relevant training opportunities for Research Managers. The RM Framework Handbook was presented as a practical methodology that enables training providers to create flexible and impactful learning pathways while contributing to the professionalisation of Research Management across Europe.
