Depression: When the Heart Catches a Cold / こころの風邪「うつ」
In Japanese culture, people tend to "gaman" when feeling down. Even among American-born Nikkei, people feel "hazukashii" or ashamed to talk about problems. Just as we seek treatment and take care of ourselves when our bodies catch a cold, it is important to get help when we are not feeling good in our hearts. In this video, one person shares their story, along with information from experts. In Japanese with English subtitles. Produced by the Little Tokyo Service Center with funding from the Archstone Foundation.
