Ranya Rao's Gold Smuggling Case: Rao Confesses To Hawala Link In DRI Interrogation | India Today

The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) claims Rania Rao has confessed to transferring funds via Hawala for purchasing gold. An investigation report reveals that airport security protocols were broken for Rao, allegedly at her father DGP Ramachandra Rao's behest. The DRI alleges evidence of Rao and her friend Tarun Raju making 26 trips to Dubai. Rao was arrested on March 3rd at Bengaluru airport with gold concealed on her person.
