How to save the planet by keeping stuff out of Landfill!

My printer/scanner is old. So old in fact, that Canon have discontinued it and no longer supply replacement parts, such as ink absorbers. This is one woman's story of her struggle to dismantle the machine, do battle with the ink sodden absorbers, then put it back together then attempt to reprogramme it. Does she succeed, will she triumph?

On my rollercoaster journey I really struggled to get the hard plastic casing off at the beginning, largely I think because I was worried about breaking it. Then the, 'what have you got to lose?' voice popped up in my head and I carried on. It's stronger than you think. Wear gloves when coming into contact with the inky bits- I still have some down one nail, which I've yet to get out.
I also really struggled to get the arm lid fitted back in but eventually (nothing to lose) I took the whole side piece apart and managed to sort out the cog mechanism to get it working properly. Phew!
