An Evening With Diana Ross: The Big Event 1977 (Full Show)

Original air-date March 6, 1977; The Big Event is the TV version of Diana Ross' very successful 1976 Broadway show, in which the Tony Awards created a special category to award Miss Ross a Tony. This 90- =minutes television special included a tribute to Josephine Baker, Ethel Waters and Bessie Smith, a few songs from A Chorus Line the Supreme Years and much more. This show also received four Emmy Awards nominations, including Outstanding Achievement in Special Musical Material. Also included is the Ahmanson Theatre live 1976, September recording of the original show.
