Let me introduce myself. My name is Sean McIlveen. I'm an attorney at the McIlveen Family Law Firm here in Gaston County and Mecklenburg County. I've been practicing family law, and nothing but family law, for the past 15 years in this area. I grew up in Gaston County and I went to school in Mecklenburg County at UNC Charlotte.
Like so many other people, I decided to get a taste of the big city. I moved to Houston and went to law school at the University of Houston in Texas. I quickly realized it wasn't for me and I missed this area, so I moved back to North Carolina, finished law school at Wake Forest, and began practicing in Gaston and Mecklenburg counties about 15 years ago.
I've limited my practice to nothing but family law because I believe that it takes a particular type of person to be in that area. It takes a person who cares about their clients and who are willing to take all their problems on their shoulders to help them resolve their cases. I gave up sleeping about 10 years ago because I do think about my clients and I care about them. My goal, if you choose to have me as an attorney, will be to represent you and solve your problems, if that's possible.
