We’ve never been inshore saltwater fishing before, and we’re excited! Magnus and Sam of Savage Gear have invited us out to the Florida Keys to experience one of the most unique bites we have ever seen. We are aboard the boat of Captain Honson Lau, Honson has put his time in on the water, and has the experience needed for this type of fishing.

What we are doing is bizarre for us northerners, gliding along in under a foot of water, being propelled by our guide pushing a long pole into the seafloor, so we move absolutely silently. Honson is up on a platform in the back of the boat so he can spot fish, and direct the anglers at the front of the boat where to cast. This unique combination of sight-fishing, and blind-casting made for an absolutely remarkable fishing day that we won’t forget.
