Perihelion - 10th Movement (January) of TiLT

As the celebrations of the end of the calendar year subside we slide into the coldest and longest month. Although technically we have passed the longest night, January always feels dark. A time for rest and contemplation, what came before and what is ahead. The earth is sleeping deeply and dreaming of new life.

TiLT is a song cycle inspired by the seasons. I composed the 4 main songs, Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter over a 12 month period, writing each song during it's respective season. At the same time I collected field recordings which I used to create the interconnecting electoacoustic compositions. I am releasing a song every month starting in April 2024.
