Emilio (Gabriele Ferzetti), a highly successful and wealthy dentist, finds himself trapped in a deeply unhappy, cold, and suffocating marriage with his wife Elisa, a beautiful but mentally unstable and frustrated classical pianist. Their teenage daughter, the intriguing, rebellious, and mischievous Eugenia (played by a stunning, young Ornella Muti), acutely realizes the toxic dynamic between her parents and decides to "help" her father in a highly unconventional, dangerous, and provocative way.

Eugenia initiates a subtle, calculating game of psychological manipulation and seduction.
