Credible Deterrence: Best Defense Against Aggression

Europe is facing a turning point. A diplomatic clash, warnings about Russia’s weakness, and a massive €800 billion defense plan—all revealed at EPC Yerevan 2026.

The 8th European Political Community Summit in Yerevan (EPC Yerevan 2026) was meant to celebrate peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan—but instead exposed deep geopolitical tensions shaping the future of Europe.

Ilham Aliyev shocked leaders with a direct attack on the European Parliament, accusing it of sabotaging the peace process. Roberta Metsola responded immediately, defending democratic principles and the legitimacy of EU institutions.

At the same summit, Volodymyr Zelensky raised serious concerns about Russia’s military capabilities, suggesting that even the symbolic May 9 Moscow parade may reveal growing weakness in the Russian army.

Emmanuel Macron openly acknowledged Europe’s dependence on the United States in defense, calling it the “elephant in the room,” while Ursula von der Leyen announced a historic €800 billion defense plan aimed at strengthening European deterrence and strategic autonomy.

Meanwhile, Giorgia Meloni warned that migration is no longer just a social issue but a hybrid threat impacting European security, economy, and democratic stability.

From the Armenia–Azerbaijan peace process to the Ukraine war update, and from NATO’s future to Europe’s security crisis, this summit highlights a continent at a critical crossroads.
