HOW TO: Create Thick Braids Using The Pull-Through Method | Josie Balka
Today I will show you how to create thick luscious braids using the pull-through method. Using the pull-through method makes thick and luscious braids possible even with thin and fine hair because it creates a lot of extra volume. These braids are an amazing way to get your hair out of your face while still looking put together.

Here is a written step by step process of how to create thick luscious braids using the pull-through method. These thick pull through braids are some of the most beautiful thick braids I have ever learned how to do. Can't wait to share!
1. Refresh your hair with dry shampoo to prep it for this beautiful thick braid. Section your hair into small sections, spray dry shampoo at the root. Massage into your scalp and finish with combing or brushing your hair. (Batiste “Tropical” is a great quality dry shampoo at an affordable price)
1st Beautiful Thick Braid: Side Pull-Through Braid
2. Part your hair on the side and follow the instructions that I give on the video.
3. Take a small section in the front of your hair, about two inches wide, and secure it with a clear elastic.
4. Take the two sections of hair below (one of each side) and let the previous section drop through in between, securing with a clear band.
5. Use this same method all the way down.
6. Pull small pieces to loosen up the braid and create a fuller braid.
7. I love to wear my thick pull thru braid with a hat.
8. Tip for removing bands quick and easy: Use a seam ripper, small scissors, or my favorite way: by tapping a hot tool to the band. The band will pop immediately and effortlessly.
2nd Beautiful Thick Braid: Topsy Tail Thick Braid
9. Start by gathering a small section around your crown, secure with a clear elastic, create a small hole right above the band, and flip your hair through, creating a topsy-tail. (Be sure to loosen this a little.)
10. Take the two sections on either side, secure with an elastic, and twist them through, creating another topsy tail.
11. Repeat these steps all the way down.
12. Loosen the completed thick pull thru braid and pull down a couple pieces to frame your face.
