Super Bowl 42, February 3, 2008. The New York Giants vs The New England Patriots. New England was on the brink of history, achieving a 16-0 perfect regular season. The Juggernaut of Tom Brady, Randy Moss and Bill Belichek were destroying teams all year long. And were now on the cusp of becoming the first NFL team in history to go 19-0 with a win in the superbowl. The Giants’ season was on the other end of the spectrum, with a slow start to the year, Eli manning and the G-men notched six consecutive wins and finishing the year with a 10–6 record. The Giants were able to secure a wild card bid in the playoffs.

In the final game of the regular season, the Giants played at home against the undefeated New England Patriots. Although the Giants had already earned a playoff spot and had nothing to gain by winning the game, coach Tom Coughlin decided to play his starters throughout the game. New York, clearly playing to win against the league's best team, narrowly lost 38–35.

With the backstory out of the way, lets get back to Super Bowl 42.  The game that is better known for David Tyree’s helmet catch. A spectacular play of Eli Manning running for his life, throwing up a prayer and Tyree somehow, someway was able to bring down the pigskin. The Giants would go to win the game 17-14. For people who were witnessing with their own eyes could not believe that this helmet catch just happened.

Was it sheer luck? Was it Tyree’s athletic prowess? Or was this play staged and scripted to shock the masses into a frenzy of entertainment? We try to that answer today.

Lets get to it.
There was 1:15 on the clock in the 4th quarter, and the ball was at the Giant’s 44-yard-line. This matters because ‘Helmet Catch’ sums to 44 in Reduction Gematria. Despite the ball being at the 44-yard-line, notice Eli Manning received the ball at the ‘New York’ 39 due to being in the shotgun formation.

Eli wears number 10, and ‘ten’ has Ordinal Gematria of 39 as well. It was fitting he was in the ‘shotgun’ formation because the word ‘shotgun’ has Reduction Gematria of 32, similar to how ‘NFL’ has Ordinal Gematria of 32, the NFL has 32-teams, and the play ended up netting 32-yards, taking the Giants to the New England 24-yard-line, setting up the New York Giant’s win
for Super Bowl 42.
