Camtasia 2021 WHAT'S NEW: Features, Functions and Improvements Demonstration

What's new in Camtasia 2021? This month, Camtasia 2021 is released by Techsmith on April 27th and in this video I'm walking through all of the new features, improvements and functions I found while testing Camtasia 2021's features. Techsmith has added a few features long-requested by the users and also some new enhancements to several workflows - such as groups, masks, videos, effects, audio and more.

Camtasia 2021 has a new way to work with track mattes that is more flexible, easier to understand and manipulate, and easier to move around, group, resize - without blocking an entire track to achieve it.

There are many interface improvements, redesigned start up screen and recorder as well as little fixes that make working in Camtasia easier and faster, reducing some of the annoying drawbacks of the old Camtasia interface, such as resizing track headers for example.

In Camtasia 2021 there are several major visual and audio effects introduced that give more functionality to your clips, animations, add realism and convenience as well as performance when editing with higher-resolution or higher framerate videos.

The new version of Camtasia improves handling of groups, making it easier to delve deep into a group and edit its contents. Collaboration with other colleagues is helped by a new way of handling and saving Camtasia projects, keeping media in a single place if you choose, making it easier to move and share projects with others.

I'm also showing new Camtasia 2021 functions that deal with creating shareable assets, making it easier to customise these before you share them or if you're looking to create assets that you want to reuse by saving them in your Library. Now you can better create customisation options for them, particularly when it comes to text fields, labels, quick properties and more.

A little letdown I think, is the fact that the audio side of editing has not seen much improvement, apart from a few tweaks, extra options and a very useful audio emphasize function - audio capabilities of Camtasia have remained largely unchanged.

Camtasia 2021 also includes performance improvements across the board. In my testing, I've edited several large projects with many clips with a significant improvement in speed, context changes, moving objects around and so on, on the same machine that was struggling with Camtasia 2020 and previous versions. I think Techsmith has listened to user feedback because the previous version was struggling at times, despite more powerful hardware configurations.
