Pakistan’s Foreign Office has strongly condemned what it calls an unprovoked act of war by India, following overnight missile strikes that hit Kotli, Bahawalpur, Muridke, Bagh, and Muzaffarabad.

The Foreign Office says India violated Pakistan’s sovereignty by using stand-off weapons from its own airspace, targeting civilian populations, including women and children. It called the attack a violation of international law and the UN Charter, warning that it also poses a threat to civilian air traffic.

According to Pakistan’s military, three civilians were killed and 12 others injured. Mosques and residential areas were among the targets.

In response, Pakistan says it has shot down two Indian jets and carried out retaliatory strikes, including one on a brigade headquarters inside India. The location has not been disclosed.

These developments come in the aftermath of the April 22 attack in occupied Kashmir’s Pahalgam, where 26 people were killed. India blamed cross-border elements, while Pakistan denies involvement and has called for a neutral investigation.
